So basically what I’ve learned is information trapping is pretty much like RSS Feeds; I think the only difference is if you want information dealing with certain things like, in my case, movies, the info will come to me with whatever tool I’m using just by a keyword (movies). I don’t go pick the sites I want the info to come to me from. I never knew there was actually a tool out there like that. Gives a whole new meaning to RSS feeds. Now that I know about it I may just start using a trapping tool cause I’m a seriously curious person and when it comes to info about certain things I want to know about, I don’t want to have to search the web when it can just be right there at my finger tips. Amazing how far we’ve come with the internet and its tools. Would have been nice to have all this years ago when all I ever did was write papers and had to search for everything ‘by hand’.

would you like to test our information trapping tool? Cell Alert. Cell Alert is an information tracking and delivery tool that sends alerts to your cell phone or email when anything you want is located for you online (sales lead alerts, apartments, iphones, reputations,
crimes, travel alerts, transportation, etc.).
If you’re interested, please email me at israel at cellalert dot net and I will send you an invitation.

I guess I don’t understand. Where are you doing your search? How do you know it is an RSS feed? Do yoy set it up like a Blog subcription?

I didn’t really know about the specific key word search. That DOES make things a lot easier. I guess its kind of like subscribing to Channels, only not such a jumble. I like that idea. I hadn’t found it. Maybe I just missed it in my reading.

There are several tools that allows you to get information from multiple places (search engines, web, etc) and trap the information you are looking for, you can check Ixquick or Clusty that are two really good ones and what they do is pretty much look in the most common search engines (google, yahoo, etc) or by metatags and/or keywords to find the information you are looking for.

ehhh, I definately don’t miss the days when we had to find everything through books or ‘by hand’ lol. I think I would use this tool to get acting gig alerts or something, when I get more time. But as far as wanting to learning things on my own, I’d go out and find it myself.
